I know I know

It’s been well over a year since my last post, good gosh! One of the reasons I haven’t posted is because I was to lazy sometimes to fix the site due to old plugins messing with the new wordpress, and I had a bad import of the database, then I’d get to busy and completely not have anytime for the site. So my lazy butt finally fixed it and well so much has happened in my life since then and so little at the same time well in my gaming world that is, as I don’t play nearly as much as I used to when I first started the site.

So X5 is back sort of and I’ll definitely try to keep you updated a bit more then once between 2 years haha. Anyways as you can see below in my last post I always had problems with my Xbox 360 dvd drive, and it finally crapped out on me a few months ago which isn’t to bad considering it was a launch 360 so it lasted me a good 3 years! I’m currently borrowing a 360 to curb my xbox gaming needs until I can afford to buy another 360 and I’m thankful for that!

Wow there’s so much more I want to say! But I’ll spread it out over upcoming posts, and for those of you who still read this thank you and I hope to keep you entertained and informed as much as I can in the future.

Who’s the man?

As some of you know I messaged you on Xbox Live and told you my 360 dvd drive was toast and I would have to buy another….Well I got my 360 going again, you heard that right! In a last ditch effort and with some spare time I tore my 360 apart, then took the dvd drive apart, and cleaned the hell out of it and then oiled the motor that spins the dvds. I then put it half way together to throw a game disc on the tray and close it…..Voila! I hear the disc spin up and then the game pops on my screen! woohoo!

Now I don’t recommend anyone does this to there own 360 if there dvd drive goes out, I just figure since I already voided my warranty last year by taking it apart to paint my 360, I had nothing to lose and something to gain, Sure enough I gained my 360 back. See you guys on Xbox Live!

PS I took these pics with my iPhone and it has no flash that is why some are so dark

Wii-Joice it’s finally here!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

My Nintendo Wii is finally here! It actually came in 2 days ago, but I’ve also been busy with other things at the same time, and even though I only have one game (Wii Sports) for it at the moment, It is so much fun! I’ve been playing Tennis, Baseball, and Golf the most, it really is interactive and addicting, and it definitely is all the hype they advertised.

And seeing that I’ve had some time the past few days to play around with my Wii, I’ve played with some of the online capabilities, such as the Wii Friend’s List, Yes it is a little clunky seeing that you have to exchange Wii Numbers (I have my nephew on there) but once you are on the list you stay there. Then the Mii Channel I’ve created and sent my Mii to my nephew and he sent me his, It was really easy you just drag your Mii to an envelope and he’s on his way! Then the Wii Shop I’ve downloaded some of the virtual console games from SNES, N64, and Turbo-Grafx 16, and they run really smooth. And there’s also a Photo Channel where you can share/post photos from an SD Memory Card to the Wii Message board so your friends on your list can see your photos.

Overall I’m really enjoying the Nintendo Wii for what it is…Interactive Fun and Entertainment, it’s a definite needed and refreshing change from other consoles, and it works as advertised. The controllers are definitely not just a gimmick they are a real part of the game, and they really make you feel like you are part of the game. Plus it burns calories, gets you up off the chair, and it beats just sitting twiddling your fingers and thumbs on a controller right? Well enough with the babble on to the pictures, and back to my Wii! Enjoy

PS - These pics are from my new digicam I recently bought, no more crummy cellphone pics!

The Halo Bug

Monday, January 1st, 2007

I’ve recently gotten the Halo bug, I think its because all the Halo 3 trailers and the Halo books I recently got, so I’ve been loggin some Halo hours in while on my break, I even went through some Halo 1 on Legendary again, and damn it reminded me the storyline is so much better then Halo 2! It also reminded me even some of the gameplay I still like more then Halo 2, and then it brought back memories when my buds and I used to have small lan parties and play just Halo 1 for hours, ah man hard to believe that was 4-5 years ago!

Anywho before I get a tear in my eye for Halo 1 I’ll get back to 2, so I’ve been playing H2 on Xbox Live lately and I had some pretty awesome games, and there’s one I’m proud of that I’d like to share with you all, it’s one of the best games I’ve had in a long time Click Here To See Stats that was a [Big Team Battle - Team Slayer Battle Rifle] game, it reminded me how much I loved the BR! Now I don’t know what came over me that was my first game of the day! Usually I have to warm up to have a game like that, but man I felt like the F’n man after that game haha
So while I’m giving H2 some love, there are things that still really annoyed me and that partly drove me away from H2 on Xbox Live, it’s the damn kids screaming around and team killing…OH YOU GOT PWNED, I NO SCOPED YOUR ASS, YOU NOOB, and there’s alot of other things said that I won’t post here, but the funny thing is I noticed is the loud ones suck at playing the game they have like 3 kills and 10 deaths and they try to blame it on someone else that they suck, so they more or less sound and play like chimps with a controller haha, anyways it’s all fun if you can ignore the idiots or take off your headset, so with all this good and bad being said about the game….I still love Halo!

My Xbox 360 VGA Mod

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Now this mod was crazy, I got the idea to do it after I saw this Article How-To: Turn a standard Xbox 360 video cable into a VGA cable and I’m glad I found it, BUT after I started in I was telling one of my friends on here you should get brain surgery certification after you finish this haha, but seriously you got to have some pretty good patience, a steady hand, and other super human abilities, and being me of course that wasn’t a problem j/k but in the end it was well worth it and it’s a pretty cool accomplishment, it took me a good 2 days because I had to do it after work, and a few times I had to make a compromise in materials, but as you can see it’s all together and working, I even added in a few different outputs, like the Headphone jack, and the Dolby Digital Coax, I’m hoping to paint it black someday also, now on to the pics!
